Ireland vs Scotland review:

Ireland at the end won this game 19-12, but I don’t think that they deserved it. Scotland dominated most of the game and if their influential captain could just dot the ball down they would have been in a prime spot to draw the game.

Ireland: They did not have one of their better games and for some reason even their usual strengths weren’t up to scratch. They struggled in the scrums and the Scottish defense even repelled all their forward runners. The one shining light for them was CJ Stander he had a great game and dominated every part of the game from his strong runs to his steals at the breakdown at exactly the right moment to demotivate the Scottish team.

Scotland: The Scottish team shocked the entire world when they set their first scrum and pushed back the huge Irish pack that usually only goes forward. Their captain Hogg had a great game but his one “school boy” error cost them the game, but their team will be highly motivated to learn from this defeat and come back a stronger team. They definitely were the best team on the day and if they are able to sort out their finishing they will be able to compete at the top again.

My MVP: CJ Stander, he had a great game and was the stand out player on the day being able to steal the ball, make the big hits and his busty runs to get his team back on the front foot and in the driving position of the game.
