Scotland vs England preview:

Another mouth watering clash between an up and coming Scotland and an England team that will want to show that they are still the team that made the World-Cup finals. The Scottish team had a great game against Ireland and could have drawn if Hogg just dotted the ball down. England on the other hand was out muscled by a highly motivated French team. This game both teams will want to correct their mistakes of their previous games and show that they are still in contention to win the Six Nations. England will want to dominate up front like they said they were going to do before the France game but it is not going top be that easy. The Scottish pack held the Irish at bay and even dominated at scrum time. If England are able to dominate at the front they will use their lightning quick wings and highly dangerous backline to get the ball out wide and run gaps in the defense. Scotland will want to make the game loose and almost play unstructured rugby because that is when they are at their most dangerous.

Key match-ups:

Hamish Watson vs Thomas Curry: Both of the players are very influential in their teams’ success. Curry one of the very best loose forwards in the business. He did not have one of his best games against France, but that was largely because of him playing at 8. I know that 8 is still a loose forward but you have to play a completely different game than at 7. Hamish had a very great game against Ireland, and was influential in his teams great game. He cleans out hard to give his team quick ball so they can play of of the front foot. He makes most of his tackles and also runs very well with the ball if either of them have a great game they can take the game away from their opposition.

Stuart Hogg vs George Furbank: I know that Furbank has had a debut to forget, but I believe that he is good enough to bounce back and have a better game. He is up against arguably the worlds best and most creative Fullback. Hogg only made one error in the previous game and although it cost them the game he had a great game. He is going to be very dangerous and if the English defense don’t watch out he will definitely exploit them. Furbank is another great fullback and also very dangerous if he plays like he does at club level he will be a hand full to handle.

My Prediction:

I believe that England will be able to win the game. Scotland will put up a good fight but I don’t think that they will be able keep going the whole 80 against a great team like England. It will be good to watch and very entertaining rugby.
