The start of the game was the opposite than what we are used to from England, with the French getting a try in the 6th minute of the game. The English tried to do the mall in the middle of the park like the South-Africans did in the final but it did not work. As a South-African I thought it was funny that the English thought that by appointing the South-African forwards coach of the world cup they will be more physical, but the French team with two players born in South-Africa showed that it isn’t the coach giving the physicality it is the players. Eddie before the game again talked allot and well it seams that his England team is more bark than bite.
England: Their very influential captain had one of his worst games in a while and his handling had his team on the back foot every time they were looking dangerous. They spoke about bringing the physicality but the french bought even more and every time the English was looking dangerous and where close to the try line the french repelled them and kept them from scoring. The English did however come back late in the game with two tries from May but it was not enough to overcome the French.
France: The French team was great and played better rugby than they did in years. The two that impressed my the most is Dupont the nine is definitely on of the worlds best and well I think that Youngs is a bit demotivated being outplayed by the oppositions nine. It has happened twice in a row now. But wow Dupont has announced himself to the world and if teams want to challenge the french they will have to mark him. the other player was Ntamack his defense was definitely a stand out I doubted him in the preview, but I will not make that mistake again.
My MVP: Antoine Dupont I already spoke about him but there is definitely no way that you can pick another player for this reward.
