Well Wales is definitely one of the luckiest teams having two world class flyhalf’s at their disposal, and well it comes in handy again with Gareth Anscombe still being injured and not able to play the Six Nations. Wales will not be happy with their World-Cup effort even though they went to the semi-final. They had one of their best ever years in 2019 and would have expected to at least reach the final after their huge success in the Six Nations. They will now look to rebuild to the next World-Cup. With their new coach I expect him to bring in new blood and start building an entire 32 man squad that is good enough to start in a final. I will also expect them to start flushing out the players close to retirement even tho they still are in great form they probably won’t make the next World-Cup. So their is two ways Wayne Pivac can play this years Six Nations he can plan ahead and bring in new players regularly or he can stick to his guns and play the known starting line up , but when the next world cup comes around they won’t be their to count on. But with all that being said they are still my favorites for the Six Nations. The reason I say that is because they are an Super star team, and if you have read any of my blogs you’l know I will always say a super star team will always beat a team of super starts. I am not saying that their players aren’t good I am saying that there is a better player in every one of their positions in the rest of the world but they are still able to compete with all those teams and it is because they are a superstar team.
Players to look out for:
Alun Wyn Jones: Well he is definitely their very best player although his career is coming to an end he is still a force to recon with on the field. He brings the complete package to the field a great leader and Wales is and entirely different team when he is on the field, he brings physicality and is able to take on any player from any team which is a great attribute when you are playing a side with a huge forward pack.
Josh Adams: The World-Cup top try scorer will want to carry over the form of the world cup and if he manages to do that he will be very though to play against. He might not have scored the most spectacular tries but he did score allot of them. If he gets the ball in open space he is very dangerous he only need to sharpen up his defence to become one of the best in the world.
Dan Biggar: I know that he is rater second after a fit Gareth Anscombe, but I personally think he is better, and in the World-Cup 2015 if he stayed on the field in the quarter final they would have beat South-Africa and went to the semi-final. I know that is a long time ago but he is still the best flyhalf in Wales. If he has a good game he will control it with his boot and when the time is right distribute it to his wings who will most likely finish it of.
