The English team will want to put the disappointment of last years World-Cup final behind them and start building for the next. Eddie already admitted to making a mistake in the world cup final, and if you read John Mitchell’s statement after the game. He asked Eddie if they were ready for the physicality of the Boks and Eddie just smiled back at him. The reason I bring this up is because if they want to win the Six Nations their forward pack will have to step up and take on some of the most powerful forward packs in the world. It will not be easy and losing Billy Vunipola will not help with that, fortunately they uncovered two of the most exiting flankers in the game and they will certainly want to become one of the dominant pairs in world rugby. As for their backline lead by Owen Farrell at 10 or 12 will light up this Six Nations they have the whole package a busty center that can run over and around the defenders, speed on the wings with skills to match and a 9, 10, 12 (Ben Youngs,George Ford, Owen Farrell) combination that can control the game and put heir team in the driving seat. England have also boosted their coaching staff with Matt Proudfoot, the South-African world cup winning forwards coach he will look to elivate the likes of Itoje and the Kamikaze kids to the next level.
Players to look out for:
kamikaze kids: Yes Tom Curry and Sam Underhill. These two deserve a blog for themselves that is how good they are. They complement each other perfectly by both being able to do everything, They both mostly make dominant tackles which puts the attacking team on the back foot. They also slow down the ball well that is unless they turn it over or get the penalty. I don’t think that their is a bad element to either of the players game and that was proved when Tom got nominated for world rugby player of the year. It could just as easy be Sam who received the nomination and I believe if the world cup win went the other way it would have been Tom collecting the player of the year award.
Maro Itoje: The last few seasons he has really stepped up and made himself one of the worlds most formidable locks to play against. The reason for him being such a great is because he gives you the best of both worlds he is a great fetcher in the breakdown, and also a good scrummager and lineout jumper putting him in the team gives you and extra loose forward whilst still having a great lock in the team.
Owen Farrell: Well although he is one the most hated players (by other teams and their fans) it is only because he is so good. The reason he doesn’t care if other players don’t like him is because if their is a target on his back it free’s up the rest of the team to be able to find the gaps and he is tough enough to take it. He is also a great game manager and if his team is on the back foot he will be able to turn the game around by either making a huge tackle or put the ball on the foot and take play down to the oppositions half. If he has a good game it would be very difficult to beat them.
Manu Tuilagi: He has made a great comeback to his international career in 2019. In the world cup he was one of the form centers and played great rugby like he did in the past. If they play him right and don’t just use him as a battering ram he would be finding gaps and putting their lightning quick wingers in space to score a try.
