Super rugby Saturday review round 5:

Sunwolves vs Hurricanes:

This was a very exciting game, although it was very one sided it has been a while since I saw one team playing such lovely running rugby and at some stage I even started feeling sorry for the losing team because there was literally nothing they could do to stop relentless pressure from the canes. The canes have now shown that they still have the running ability in their backline and that they will start playing a bit more with their huge and quick backs. If this backline gets it right on the day they will cut most defenses in half.

Reds vs Sharks:

This was one of the best games this season the Sharks came away with the victory, but the Reds led at half time. Both these teams played some great rugby which made the game a bit open at stages and we got to see some great scramble defense from both teams. The Sharks dd not start of well, but that can be because they did rest a few of their players. They were also able to stand up to the huge forward pack of the Reds at scrum time and that made the Reds a lot less confidant in the rest of their game play. The Sharks just played smart rugby pulling the Reds in tight on defense which mad it easy to play out wide and let their quick men on the edges finish things of.

Stormers vs Blues:

This was probably the upset of the weekend. The Blues came to Newlands and when they were asked to toughen up they did that to the extent that the Stormers looked like they were boys playing against men. The Blues came into this game narrowly winning against the Bulls in Pretoria and that would have had the Stormers confidant that they would be able top win. Then the game started and every single collision was dominated by the Blues and they played a great game playing wide at the right time to get around the Stormers. The Blues have now finaly put their hand up and will be a force to reckon going forward in this comp.

Bulls vs Jaguares:

This was again disappointing game to watch especially being a Bulls fan. I think that they did play an alright game they just struggled to finish and would throw the ball away in crucial areas. I really just wish that they would sack their coach because he is not getting the best out of his players.
