This is going to be one hell of a battle. The Chiefs who is probably the best team in the competition this far taking on the Brumbies the best team in Australia. The Chiefs is coming with a very strong team and will look to dominate the game in every asset. They will want to show that they also have a good set piece against one of the teams with the best forwards packs in the competition. They will also want to play the ball wide and show the pace and skill of their backline is enough to beet any team. The Brumbies will most likely go from set piece to set piece and try and dominate that and score points from there. The only reason for the Brumbies playing like that and only scoring tries with their mall is that they are only dangerous on the 5 meter line of the opposition. That makes it easy to defend the rest of the time when they are not on your 5 meter line. The Chiefs is one of the teams with the very best defensive structure and that is because of their new coach and I believe that they are one of the favorites for the trophy.
Key Match-ups:
Sam Cane vs Pete Samu: These two international players are going to want to show that they are the real deal. Sam who will look to carry hard and be a menace at the break down. He has not found his best form yet this season and he will look to set that straight. If he is able to perform at his best he will definitely put the Brumbies on the back foot and he alone will be able to take the game away from them.
Damian McKenzie vs Thomas Banks: This is going to be a very exiting battle. Two of the most lively and young fullbacks in the world. Damian is getting back into career best form and if you are a rugby fan you will know that, that is the most dreadful thing in the world if this guy is in good form and playing against your team. Banks on the other hand is a very good player in his own right, but he can only preform when his team lets him. He is a very good runner, but like in the Brumbies previous game he was not a factor because they planned them out of their game plan and that made him not have a good game hopefully the Brumbies gives him the nod to play his free flowing game.
