Super Rugby team of the week round 3:

Props:

Steven Kitshoff: He played a very good game and was very important in their win and I believe that the captaincy helped him. His stats: Carries-5 Meters-5 Tackles-8 Missed tackles-1 Penalties conceded-1 Turnovers won-1. He only missed one tackle and won 3 turnovers there are not a lot of props that can do that.

Harry Johnson-Holmes: He is a very good prop and although he is not the biggest prop he is one of the most exciting props in Aussie rugby. His stats: Tries-1 Meters-3 Carries-2 Defenders beaten-2 Tackles-5 Missed tackles-0.

Hooker:

Folau Fainga’a: HE scored a hatrick in this game made allot of tackles and his line-out throwing was exceptional. His stats: Tries-3 Meters-6 Carries-10 Passes-2 Tackles-7 Missed tackles-1 Turnovers won-1 Line-out throw in-16 Penalty conceded-1

Locks:

Guido Petti Pagadizaval: He has been a stand out lock for a while now and just keeps on proving that even a lock don’t have to be the biggest player in the team. His Stats: Meters-2 Carries-8 Passes-5 Tackles-12 Missed Tackles-0 Line-outs won-10 Line-out steals-1

Scott Barrett: He is also not the standard lock he plays more like a flanker and if he has a good game he is one of the best in the world. His Stats: Meters-6 Carries-7 Passes-9 Tackles-10 Tackles missed-1 Line-outs won-1

Loose Forwards:

Cullen Grace: He was one of the stand out players on defense and was very good in disrupting the Blues line-out so they were never able to set a base. His stats: Meters-6 Carries-2 Defenders beaten-1 Passes-3 Tackles-19 Tackles missed-4 Turnovers won-2 Line-outs won-10 Line-out steals-3 Penalties conceded.

Shannon Frizell: He started for the first time this season and I don’t know why they waited so long to start him. He gave his team front foot ball with beating 5 defenders in just 6 Carries. His stats: Meters-15 Carries-6 Defenders beaten-5 Passes-1 Tackles-5 Tackles missed-0.

Isi Naiserani: He was one of the reasons why his team won the game running the ball hard at the defense and being able to break through the defensive line giving his team quick ball on the front foot. His stats: Meters-43 Carries-13 Defenders beaten-5 Clean breaks-3 Tackles-5 Tackles missed-1 Turnovers won-2 Line-outs won-1.

Halfback:

Brad Weber: Although his team played against the Sunwolves he had a good game and well was the stand out player of the round he ran well with the ball made all the right decisions on the field. His stats: Tries-1 Meters-46 Carries-9 Defenders beaten-2 Clean breaks-1 Passes-51 Tackles-12 Tackles missed-0 Turnovers won-1 Kicks-9 Penalties conceded-1.

Flyhalf:

Elton Jantjies: He had a great game controlling the game from 10 and running it like an orchestra. I think he finally had a good game and that is why his team had their best game of the year this far. His Stats: Tries-1 Meters-67 Carries-10 Defenders beaten-7 Clean breaks-2 Passes-19 Tackles-6 Tackles missed-1 Turnovers won-1 Kicks-15 Conversions-2 Penalty goals-2 Penalties conceded-1.

Centers:

Quin Tupaea: He is another one of the stand out players of the Chiefs game. If he keeps playing like that he will make the life of the All-Black selectors very hard. His stats: Tries-1 Meters-57 Carries-11 Defenders beaten-8 Clean breaks-5 Passes-1 Tackles-5 Tackles missed-2 Turnovers won-2 kicks-1

Ngani Laumape: He is starting to return to his best form and that is allowing him to run the ball hard at the defense again. He should just sharpen up his defense so that he will be able to be a good all round center. His stats: Tries-1 Meters-69 Carries-5 Defenders beaten-2 Clean breaks-2 Passes-7 Tackles-2 Tackles missed-2 Kicks-2 Penalties conceded-1.

Back 3:

Ben Lam: He is another player who finally found form this season and what a game to find it in playing against a very dangerous Sharks team who was unbeaten before this weekend. His stats: Tries-2 Meters-114 Carries-6 Defenders beaten-5 Clean breaks-3 Passes-2 Tackles-7 Tackles missed-0 Turnovers won-1 Kicks-1.

Aphelele Fassi: I don’t think that he will ever not be in this team if he has the ball in hand he is so elusive and able to wiggle through any defensive line. His stats: Meters-135 Carries-12 Defenders beaten-8 Clean breaks-2 Passes-6 Tackles-4 Tackles missed-4 Turnovers won-1 Kicks-7.

Damian McKenzie: He is starting to play like he did before he got injured last year and it is bad news for all the other teams if he gets going like this. He should just sharpen up his defense to become favorite for the All-Black team. His stats: Tries-1 Meters-40 Carries-9 Defenders beaten-7 Clean breaks-2 Passes-12 Tackles-3 Tackles missed-4 Turnovers won-1 Kicks-4 Conversions-3.
