Rebels vs Waratahs review:

This was not a very interesting game to watch and to be honest I almost fell asleep just before half time. The Rebels did however come away with the win like I predicted. The conditions was not ideal for running rugby but that was what made the Rebels win at the end of the day. Both these two teams will have to preform much better if the want to compete and evenbe a bit of a challenge for the better teams in the comp.

Rebels:

The Rebels had a great game set piece to work from which made it easier to play their backline into gaps, one of the stand out players was Ryan Louwrens he was very dangerous of the back of the scrums and caused a lot of defensive headaches. The rebels looks like a very good team when they have the ball but they some how find a way to throw it away most of the time. I just want to clear one thing up and that is that Marika Koroibete is a very over rated player yes he is fast and runs hard with the ball but he must be one of the dumbest rugby players on the planet. On the counter attack he immediately puts the ball under the arm which makes it easy to defend because he can only run. I just don’t think that he is at the International level yet. With that out of the way the only reason the Rebels were able to outscore the Waratahs was because when they got in the oppositions 22 they played the ball wide and did not try to push over with their forwards.

Waratahs:

The Waratahs did not have a good game and according to the commentator for the first time ever lost 3 opening games in a row. They struggled in the scrums and were on the backfoot from there on. Beale once again showed that he is not a 15 and that he should play in the centers were he can put the rest of his team mater into space. At 15 he must find the space for himself and take it, but that is not the type of players he is. Their only try came of the back of a brilliant break from 9 which disrupted the Rebels defense. The other times they got in the 22 of the Rebels they kept the ball close and that made it easy to defend if they just spread the ball earlier they might have scored more tries.
